George has a broad and unique background perfectly suited to specializing in Estate Planning and Asset Protection. He graduated summa cum laude from Appalachian State University having majored in insurance and real estate in 1978. Prior to attending law school, George worked one year for an independent property/casualty insurance agency and three years with the Group Health Insurance department of the Travelers Insurance Company. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve from 1978 until 1991, and served his last three years as a Captain.
Additionally, George worked as a stockbroker/certified financial planner (CFP) for E.F. Hutton for seven years, from 1981 until 1988. While at E.F. Hutton, George assisted hundreds of clients structure financial plans perfectly suited to their unique situations. He specialized in annuities, tax deferred investments, IRA, pension and 401K plans, managed money accounts and conservative long term growth investments.
George currently concentrates his practice in the area of Estate Planning. His experience as a property casualty agent, group health insurance specialist and as a financial planner for E.F. Hutton provides him the perfect background and insight to assist clients structure their Estate and Asset Protection Plans.
George received his Juris Doctor degree from Campbell University School of Law in 1991 and was a member of the Campbell Law Review.
In 2008, he was named by the Triangle Business Leader as one of the Top Lawyers in Trial/Litigation and in 2013-2015 was listed in Best Lawyers in America. He has also earned the highest (AV-Rated) ranking awarded by Martindale-Hubbell.
In 2013, he and his partner Brad Inman opened the firms Estate Planning and Asset Protection practice. They focus their work on estate planning services, including preparation of living trusts, wills and other related estate planning documents, estate tax minimization and asset protection.
George is a member of Wealthcounsel, the North Carolina Forum of Estate Planning Attorneys and the North Carolina Bar Association of Estate Planning & Fiduciary Law Section. George is also a member of the Triangle chapter of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and the Triangle chapter of the Financial Planners Association (FPA).
